Friday February 16th was a huge success at Facebook’s NYC campus! Facebook CAO, Nick Lovrien presented to 100 or so industry leaders on how they protect their vast, global infrastructure as well as it’s people and brand. After the presentation members had a private tour of their multi floor campus. “George Anderson, Director of World Trade Center Security for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, delivered a presentation regarding the Port Authority’s layered approach to security.   Multiple layers create a system that precludes a single point of failure, providing the best security at our airports, bridges, terminals, and at the WTC.  George began his discussion with a video presentation reminding us of the terrible losses of 9/11, but also showing the resiliency of this city and this nation with the rebirth of the WTC.  The discussion highlighted how people, process and technology combine to secure this iconic site.  George was presented with a plaque by Chapter Chair Lynn Brown, thanking him for this interesting look at WTC Security.”

2018 NYC Chapter Officers Sworn into Office by George W. Anderson

The NYC Chapter of ASIS International held their holiday luncheon on December 15, 2017 at Rosie’s O’Grady’s. The room was full with over 130 members and their guests enjoying great company, holiday cocktails and a delicious buffet lunch. True to form the NYC meetings offer a great opportunity to connect with industry colleagues and learn the latest in the NY security industry. The first order of business was to select the slate of officers to run for the 2018 term. The officers were nominated by the members and will be sworn in during the January 19^th Chapter meeting. The Board nomination is as follows:

Special guest speaker Kimberly Guilfoyle, co-host of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) “The Five”, spoke of her work helping the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico through The Jack Brewer Group http://www.thebrewergroup.com/jbf-worldwide. A raffle was held at the meeting which raised $5,000 donated by the NYC Chapter to The Jack Brewer Group.
