Captain Doherty will be discussing counterterrorism initiatives of the NYPD
Captain Christine Doherty is a 17 year veteran of the New York City Police Department. She currently serves as the Commanding Officer of the Lower Manhattan Security Initiative (LMSI). Prior to this assignment, she was the Commanding Officer of the Counterterrorism Bureau’s Investigations Unit. Previous assignments include patrol commands in Brooklyn and Manhattan, the Special Operations Division, as well as the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information. Captain Doherty is a graduate of Columbia Business School’s Police Management Institute. Captain Doherty is also the recipient of the prestigious Police Commissioner’s Theodore Roosevelt Award, which is presented to deserving individuals who, like Theodore Roosevelt, continue to render outstanding and praiseworthy service despite a serious illness or injury.
Captain Doherty holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. John’s University.
